Happy Birthday

Today is Boyfriend's birthday.


I always call him "Boyfriend" on here, but that's just because of the 'anonymity'  thing 'we' all try to maintain on blogs.


In actuality, i've been married to this *very* wonderful man for over 28 years!


It's kinda hard to believe that someone could love me as completely and as forgiving-ly  as this man has... AND for more than TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS!!!!!


That's really hard to believe.


But even harder to believe is how MUCH he loves me.
How much he SHOWS me he loves me.
How, after all these years, he's still excited to see me.
...and i don't just mean when i'm naked.
...though, after ALL these years, i'm NOT as young and "nubile" as i once was, and yet... he's STILL excited to see me... even though my skin is starting to sag... and my hair is *definitely* getting grey... and my "girls" are definitely NOT what they once were... and allllllll the aging i've been doing lately...


...wow...
i'm starting to depress myself now...




But my point was!  He's STILL EXCITED!
And i am SO THANKFUL!!!


Thank you, Herman, for being in my life.
Thank you for staying with me through it alllll.
Thank you for loving me.  For putting up with my shit.  For "overlooking" sooooo much.  For being patient.  For adapting.  For listening... ESPECIALLY for listening when i don't/won't talk!!!


I cannot thank you enough for all the things you do, and for the person you are, and for the ways you love me.
I do NOT know what i would do if something happened to you!


And i hope i don't find out.
I would curl up into a tight little ball and cry myself to sleep for a looong time.

Boyfriend's birthday is tomorrow!

We're going to the Brazilian Steakhouse.

Boyfriend is excited!

I called to make reservations for us ("us" meaning the 4 of us, plus Daddy, Z & her boyfriend if he can go, Bunny's boyfriend if he can go, W & C [our neighbors who went to England with us], and Eric), but with so many of us, they can't seat us 'til EIGHT-THIRTY!

Have i ever mentioned that i like to eat with the old people? 

By that i mean i like to eat supper at about 5 o'clock.  Six-thirty at the latest!

I guess i'll be eating a late lunch plus a snack tomorrow just so i'll still be "pleasant" by 8-frikkin-30.

And even with that, the cocktail before supper will go straight to my head.

What can i say... Cheap date! Yep, that's me.

But i know we'll have a great time!

It's where we went last year for Boyfriend's b'day, and it was SO delicious!

I *would* say "I'll take pictures", but i know me better than that.

Hmmm... maybe i can get Bunny to take pictures!  She *is* a photographer, after all.  =-)

According to the calendar, Spring is officially here! (I should have posted this on Saturday so i'd be a little more "current"... Hmm. Oh Well!)

This past weekend we had beautiful weather on Saturday, and Boyfriend & i got out in the yard and got some stuff accomplished! Plus, he cut the grass for the first time this year. That's always a landmark time. Now it just reminds me of one more weekly chore that i'll start soon.

That's okay, though! At least i have a yard to mow. =-)

Sunday was dreary-looking, and it rained off and on. I'm not complainin' though! We had such a HORRIBLE drought in '08 that NOBODY'S complaining yet.

Next week is Boyfriend's birthday, so i'm tryin' to think real hard about what i can do for him...

I'm sure Otin has a suggestion or two! ;-)

I'm thinking about making reservations for this Brazilian Steakhouse Boyfriend keeps raving about...

Or perhaps that nice restaurant down the street that he really likes...

Or maybe i'll cook something Fancy...

Hmmm...

I'd better figure it out soon! His b'day is the 31st!
